About First Lady, Earlean P. Burns
Our First Lady, Earlean P. Burns, is the former Earlean Poe of Kilmichael, Mississippi and the oldest of ten children. She attended public schools in her hometown, graduating from Jackson State University in 1961, with a major in Elementary Education. She also studied law at the University of Pittsburgh and Special Education at Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland. Her work experience includes teaching positions in Mississippi, Virginia and Maryland. Mrs. Burns is also a former counselor for the Baltimore City Housing Authority. Presently, Mrs. Burns lovingly and loyally assists her husband, the Reverend Dr. Emmett C. Burns, Jr. with his ministerial and political duties. Our First Lady and Pastor Burns are the proud parents of three sons: Emmett III, Engel (Candace) and Evers (Kia) and the proud grandparents of seven (7) grandchildren: Sydney, Emmanuel, Kayla, Easton, Ellison, Daija, and Khory. Our First Lady enjoys caring for her grandchildren, traveling and homemaking.
Mrs. Burns and Pastor Burns are thankful that God has given them sons who have been blessed to complete their college education and continue their work in the church. Two sons serve as Assistants to the Pastor and one serves as a Trustee.
